WE NEED YOUR HELP IN BRIDGING THE GAP
The Mandate partners with Our Village Community Partnership in Iganga, Uganda which partners with the local community to ensure that children who’ve fallen through the gaps in the broken UPE education system are able to get a quality level of education that can bring them to the next level. Considering the difficult circumstance that many of the children at OVCP primary school called “Hands of Hope School” come from, the teachers are called to be more than just a classroom teacher. The teachers are called to become one of the few constants in the children’s lives. Paul Bogere, the Program Director at Hands of Hope School, tells every teacher who joins the school that “you must know that this project is about love; today you are not just becoming a teacher but you are becoming like a parent to these children.”
We believe there is no better investment than these instructors who are not only teaching academics but also showing compassion and emulating positive social skills. All in all, they have a huge part in helping to inspire the future minds of Uganda. By hiring and supporting a qualified and motivated teaching staff, a ripple effect occurs, which ultimately changes a community. There is no simple one-size fits-all solution to combat poverty. However, we believe that through investing in great teachers, Hands of Hope School is better prepared to empower young minds and open new doors of opportunity. The school has excelled and been praised by local and national government. Because of their excellence in education the school has grown from around 160 children to an enrollment of over 360 in the past two years. Our Village School has increased their number of teachers and do their best to recruit the best teachers possible.
HOW LIVES ARE CHANGED
Teachers in Uganda are often woefully underpaid, which results in a very poor quality of education. If these teachers cannot provide for their own children at home, it is very hard for them to then fight for the well being of a child outside of it. To help ensure that our teachers are able to provide for their own families and have the peace of mind to be fully dedicated to instilling a quality level of education to our children, we are calling on people to partner with us and invest in the best teachers here in Uganda.
HANDS OF HOPE SCHOOL HIRES TEACHERS AT A MONTHLY SALARY OF $200. THAT IS ONLY A YEARLY SALARY OF $2,400. SPONSOR A TEACHER TODAY AND MAKE A SIGNIFICANT DIFFERENCE IN A CHILD’S LIFE.
The Mandate is asking others to join us in our mission to provide a quality education for children in Uganda who would otherwise not have a chance to even get a third grade education or none at all. Please join us in touching the lives of children who will effect generations to come and change the world for good. A gift of any amount is greatly appreciated to help us reach our yearly goal of $36,000 to support 15 teachers.
All donations go directly to supporting the mission of The Mandate Inc. ministries and are fully tax-deductible.
